Tanning sheepskin reroutes waste product and turns it into gorgeous functional pieces that stand the test of time.

Bark Tanning is one of the oldest and most natural methods of preserving hide, using tannins from tree bark and plants instead of the chemical heavy processes that we see in modern day mass production tanning. It’s a slower process but respects the land, the animal and the consumer. The result is a sheepskin that’s as good for your home as it is for the environment - a one of a kind hand make piece that will last.

Each hide we work with is as unique as the animal it came from. We love the variety of wool textures, colours, and skin, mars from butcher, scars from life: getting a fully unique finished product each and every time. With this, the finishing process is different every time - we work with the wool and with the goals of the farmer instead of a one size fits all approach.

When time allows, we occasionally offer custom tanning of sheep skins.
